महाकाव्य काल [ Epic period] - महाकाव्य काल से तात्पर्य रामायण और महाभारत   है | ये दोनों आर्ष महाकाव्य माने जाते हैं | हलाकि इनके समय को लेकर विवाद है, परन्तु लगता है इन दोनों का अंतिम संकलन गुप्तकाल में किया गया | आइये इसे थोड़ा संक्षेप में समझते हैं |  [The epic period means Ramayana and Mahabharata.
